Myopic Operation Cannot Eradicate but Correct Myopia

With the development of surgery technology, the success rate of operation becomes higher and the effect is also getting better and better. However, operation can only make you take off your eyeglasses but not change the fact that you are still myopic.

For instance, if your eye degree is 1,000 before the operation and your naked vision reaches 1.0 after the operation so you don’t need to wear myopic eyeglasses any more. But your eye structure and retina remain in a high myopic condition and all complications such as glaucoma, amotio retinae and so forth may happen. Therefore, don’t think that everything is just fine after the operation even if its effect is ideal.

What’s more, people who have had the myopic operation will feel their visions are lost at evening or when there is a cloudy or rainy day. That is to say the eye’s vision function is recovered but its other functions are still the same as that of the myopia. The vision is corrected, which only means the dioptor of the eye is regulated, but the high visual quality involves astigmation, contrast sensitivity, night vision, tear film stability, etc. For this reason, after the LASIK operation, the contrast sensitivity of the sufferer’s vision will be reduced and the astigmation will be increased.

Own Good Vision, Own Good Academic Performance

80%~90% of study information are acquired by the students through vision, so poor vision will no doubt influence the academic performances of students. This issue has not got attention from the parents, students and teachers yet. Poor vision has two influences on study: 1. making it difficult for the students to see the blackboard clearly, which results in low efficiency in study; 2. causing eye fatigue or even worse insomnia, amnesia and neurasthenic, thus having a significant impact on the academic performance. But how does the eye fatigue of the myopic students happen?

1.      The myopia has not been remedied immediately. Many parents hold a wrong view that children shouldn’t wear eyeglasses too early instead they should wear them as late as possible. From the scientific aspect, it is indeed not good to wear eyeglasses too early. The normal standard for filling a prescription is such that the students don’t have to wear eyeglasses if they can see the blackboard without any difficulties after getting rid of pseudomyopia. But if the vision is lower than 0.5, it should be corrected by wearing a pair of eyeglasses.

2.      The eyeglasses are unqualified. Wearing unqualified eyeglasses will cause complicated vision imbalance. As more than 50% of the students’ eyeglasses are unqualified, it is common that the students will suffer eyestrain due to wearing unqualified or uncomfortable eyeglasses. Therefore, it is quite important for the high school students to wear qualified and comfortable eyeglasses to guarantee their learning effects and improve their academic performances.

3.      The astigmatism hasn’t been corrected. Astigmatism refers to that the meridian curvatures of the cornea are different from each other. The imaging of the object on the retina is not a point but two lines. In order to see clearly, the eyes need to continuously adjust the eye muscles to find a clear point so that eye fatigue occurs. Among the myopic students who also have astigmatism, only 20% of them have corrected the stigmatism, hence it is not strange that the incidence of eye fatigue in the students is getting higher and higher.

The students should have their myopias corrected as early as possible in order to ensure their academic performances. The best way is to have a mydriatic optometry and then wear a qualified and comfortable pair of eyeglasses.

Therefore the customers are unwilling to change them. However, the lenses must be updated or replaced regularly. If they choose to fill a prescription locally they will be refused by most of the glasses stores for various reasons as they don’t need to buy new glasses frames. For this reason, many people try to find some online glasses stores to seek this special service. But actually, buying lenses only online have many disadvantages.

First of all, the lenses you have bought from the online stores may not fit your eyeglasses frames. As we know, since the sellers don’t know the sizes and shapes of your own frames they can only match your lenses according to your description. However, it is inevitable that the lenses cannot be made accurately. Maybe some people will say they can ship their own frames to the seller for fitting the lenses. But this may cause another two problems which are listed as below:

1.      There is a risk of damage on the glasses frames during the shipping. The online stores where you buy the lenses from are always far from where you live; even sometimes you will buy them from an online store that is several thousand or more miles away from your home, so it will take a long time to ship the frames to them. How Often Should Eyeglasses be Replaced?

Many people will not replace their eyeglasses until they are broken or cannot be used anymore. In view of this, I have some suggestions for you.

The common nearsighted people should replace their eyeglasses once a year. This change includes adjusting the lenses degrees and updating the eyeglasses. Therefore, the eyeglasses should be maintained and inspected regularly; moreover, they should be replaced immediately so as to keep them in a good working condition.
