The untrue perception of eye vision

Our only pair of eyes is the organ for vision, through which we can see the world. Scientists found that most of the perceptions and ideas passed down from our parents about eye vision correlations are wrong. Let’s look at some of them.

The first misperception is that wearing eyeglasses can meanwhile worsen your eye vision as time goes on. This is because, before wearing glasses, you get used to the blurry world around you. This was told by our parents and teachers since childhood, but this perception about eye vision was believed to be untrue either. Eyes fatigue may occur after reading books or watching TV for prolonged hours, but eyes fatigue is not going to worsen your eye vision. Scientists say eyes are meant to be used, even overused sometimes.

Thirdly, all of us used to do the eye exercise for many years in the school and at home, which was thought to be useful and effective in preventing and curbing the progression of nearsightedness and improve the eye vision. A survey conducted in America concluded that there is no evidence showing relations between eye exercise and the improvement of vision of eyes.

Scientists further explained that the eye vision is a mechanism of heredity. There may be other factors which influence people’s eye vision, but no strong causation has been found.

Though there are so many misperceptions, it is always wise to visit a vision optometry in your local community and have your eyes vision checked and prescribe eyeglasses when necessary. Periodic visiting in vision optometry is necessary to ensure that you can always see clear of the world.
