Tiffany’s Latest Eyewear Collection Is Glamourai-Approved

March 19th, 2015

Tiffany & Co. isn’t known solely for its heirloom jewelry. Over the years, the iconic label has branched out to include leather goods, sunglasses, and a whole assortment of luxe accessories. And, one thing is for sure: Whatever Tiffany sets its sights on, it does well. Its latest eyewear collection is yet another testament to the brand’s emphasis on quality, sophistication, and timelessness over flash and fast fashion.

The Glamourai‘s Kelly Framel abides by a similar aesthetic. So, it’s no wonder the stylist teamed up with the label for a special video project titled “Disclosing Beauty,” to celebrate the new Tiffany Atlas collection. In it, Framel explores her favorite New York City hidden treasures while wearing her favorite eyewear from the line.

In the video, Framel muses, “Sometimes, you just need to stop and look around you. You can have the chance to see something incredibly beautiful. It can be a detail, a shape, architecture, people, movements, colors, lights. Everything combined creates new meaning.” The three frames styles are — fittingly — inspired by the Atlas clock that crowns the front entrance of the Tiffany & Co. flagship on Fifth Avenue. Click ahead for a few behind-the-scenes snaps and an up-close view of the frames. The styles will be available at select Sunglass Hut and Lenscrafters stores in November 2014.

March 19th, 2015

Everyone’s coolest accessory just keeps getting better. Let’s look to see what’s on the horizon (with our shades on, of course) for sunglasses trends in 2015.

According to the experts, there are a few fun new looks to watch for. Clodagh Norton, co-founder of the eyewear review source Eyestylist.com, walks us through four of the latest trends below.

Rounded Elegance: Curvy, bubbly shapes are in again. Frames echo 1960s and 1970s styles.

Men’s ChoicesDior’s 0196S glasses ($367) feature silver mirrored lenses and frames made from blue acetate, crystal acetate and lacquered metal. And Vinson ($980) from Leisure Society have leather blinders at the sides to maximize eye protection from all angles.

This awards season has seen some great spectacle moments thus far (seeLupita Nyong’o and Robert Downey Jr. at the Golden Globes). And Sunday’sGrammy Awards followed suit.

Notorious playboy John Mayer nailed the nerdy-sexy thing with his roundish brown frames, paired with a handsome slim tuxedo. Madonna’s escort and collaborator Diplo also rocked eyeglasses, though his were more in the vein of Buddy Holly.

As for shades, nominee and major accessorizer Chris Brown kept it really cool in gold vintage Cartier sunglasses that gave off a major John Lennon vibe. Ne-Yo worked the carpetin a Marc Jacobs suit and sunglasses with a classic black-aviator silhouette. And Ryan Adams tapped into the recent metallic-lens trend by donning flesh-toned Wayfarer-shaped frames with colored, mirrored lenses. So mysterious.
