Adaptation of Progressive Trifocal Glasses

Eye is one of the most important organs for us. However, most of us have never noticed the fact that our eyes are prone to various sorts of diseases. Particularly, our eyes will also degenerate functionally as we age. For example, as our eye muscles become loose, we may suffer from presbyopia when we are over forty. But in most case what we have to face is our eyes may get several eye diseases simultaneously, except presbyopia. Eye doctors often suggest us to wear bifocals or trifocals in light of our problems. And most of us have noticed there are some defects in those glasses, such as their vision area changes radically and our eyes get uncomfortable. Later, some special products in the industry emerge- progressive trifocal glasses. It is true that those glasses give us a hope that we can enjoy 20/20 vision again. However, progressive trifocal glasses are not perfect as we have ever expected. Such as, each wearer has to spend some time to get used to them. Here is some information about the adaptation.

It is no denying that there is an adapting process for any one of our organs in a new environment, let alone our eyes. Our eyes have adapted to their former environment and their muscles, optics, etc. have also got to the related environment just for this reason. It is known that progressive trifocal glasses are very nice and can help solve our eye problems, but some time is still needed to get used to them. Almost all of us will have to experience this process.

Though all of us will have to go through this process, the adapting time varies a lot for people of different age group. Generally, young people will spend only several hours or several days to get used to them, whereas the older ones will have to spend much longer time, some will spend a month or so. Then, why young people will spend less time to get used to them than older ones? This is because the elasticity of the eye muscle in young people is much better and older people. In addition, people who have never or seldom worn eyeglasses will also spend less time in this process. And for those who have worn glasses for very long time, their adapting time is much longer than ordinary people.

Most of us will think all people enjoy very nice vision after experiencing adaptation. This is a misunderstanding. Some studies have disclosed that almost 5% of glasses wearers can not get used to progressive trifocal glasses, though the reasons are still unknown. This is really horrible news for some of us. Therefore, one of the best ways to know whether we are good candidates for progressive trifocal glasses is to receive some eye examinations before buying them. Usually, our eye doctors will give some good suggestions about this.

Of course, sometimes the in-adaptation may be caused by the eye glasses. If so, we can visit the optical stores and ask the opticians for help. In such cases, the opticians will readjust those glasses according to our eyes. If there are no problems in our eyes, we will get used to those progressive trifocal glasses immediately.

Anyway, progressive trifocal glasses are really good alternatives for any of us who have some particular eye problems, though we will have to adapt to them for some time.
