Welcome to another week closet to spring! Rain boots and layers are on the horizon and I couldn’t be happier about it. I’m looking for a pair of pastel colored (example onetwo, three) rain boots and can’t decide which ones to get. First to be considered is quality and than calf width and glossiness. So which rain boots will you be sporting this spring?
I’m wearing a pair of Firmoo glasses (non prescription) which I really like. They have a cute style and look very nice in person. Whoever, I’ve received a comment from someone who does wear glasses that they are not very sturdy for long time wear. I think they would be good for someone who needs them for reading or an occasion, whoever they will not hold up long time wear.
Thanks for stopping by!

I am also sharing these gorgeous tortoise print glasses from Firmoo on the blog today. Firmoo contacted me a few weeks ago and let me select a pair of glasses from their site. I really had a hard time selecting a pair, but I knew I wanted a tortoise print. My current glasses are OLD and a black frame, which was really trendy back when I got them. I normally wear contacts during the day and Firmoo let me type in my prescription for the order for my glasses. They arrived and fit perfectly and the prescription is accurate.

So excited to try this new pair of @Firmoo glasses! When they contacted me I was going to go with a frame size similar to what I have now, but in a different color. However, I decided to try something new and trendy and went with this round frame in torto

The glasses also came with a mini screwdriver, a case and microfiber cleansing cloth.

Now, I want to share more of my outfit with you… I am wearing a grey suit that I purchased from Express. Let me tell you, Express makes awesome dresses AND even more awesome suits! This suit fits me like a glove and I enjoy styling it different ways. Today I have several layers under the jacket, a grey leopard print cardi and a white ruffle button down shirt. I am wearing grey tights with the skirt and my leather lined booties from TJ Maxx. I am in love with this outfit. Oh, and it gets even better… I am trying a free trial month with Rocks Box and this FABULOUS necklace, the earrings and bracelet are all from them. I am going to be sad to ship them back!

And, here is a close up of the jewelry that was in my Rocks Box. If you haven’t heard about Rocks Box, it is a subscription service where you pay $20 a month for a box of jewelry. You don’t keep the jewelry, unless you want to pay for it… you can ship the jewelry back at any time for free and they send you another box. You do fill out a survey to let them know what type of jewelry you’re into, so they don’t send you something you won’t like. The jewelry is more higher end like Kendra Scott, so you’re receive a great box of goodies! I really want to keep this necklace that they sent me, I can see how it would work with SO many of my outfits… but, it is $70! Eek! Not sure if I can justify that… I am still thinking about it. The ‘Shine’ necklace they sent me is something I can keep and I can’t wait to layer it with some of my other necklaces. I think I am going to try out one subscription service a year and this year its Ipsy, so maybe I’ll do Rocks Box next year… not sure yet.

SEEING IS BELIEVING: FIRMOO GLASSES ROCK

March 18th, 2015 by firmoo No comments »

Happy Friday!

I have a fun review that I’ve been waiting to share for a bit now.

Firmoo Glasses Review

Firmoo contacted me and asked if a spectacled person such as myself would like to try their glasses & review. I was actually in the market for a second pair of glasses anyway, so I was thrilled at the opportunity.

I got these glasses about a week ago and have been in love ever since.

Firmoo Glasses

Seriously, I don’t really think glasses are that exciting, but guys. I am obsessed. I don’t actually wear my glasses all day long, usually just for reading or when I’m at work. I have not really taken these things off, though. They’re great!

I love the slightly bigger frames, that there are no nose pieces that dig into your nose or leave marks, I love the two-tone color that matches everything, and that the prescription is perfect and I can see clear as day.

Firmoo Glasses

While ordering glasses online may seem hard to do, I had no issues at all. They have amazing prices, lots of options, and even a picture uploader so you can “try on” the glasses before you buy them.

Each pair comes with two cases (hard & soft), a cleaning cloth, and a repair tool to tighten them later.

Firmoo Glasses Review

I was actually really surprised and impressed with the case, since I didn’t know what kind of case came with it. It is an old map design that I’m kind of in love with.

Firmoo Glasses

Bottom line: I absolutely love these. Would I order these with my own money? You betcha.

The glasses I ordered are $36 plus shipping (which is $6.95). If you truly needed new glasses, these are the best way to get them for cheap. Or if you’re a glasses junkie like me, this is a great way to get more glasses in your repertoire without breaking the bank.

Special Offers

Firmoo offers 50% off ANY glasses for all first time customers.

They also have a 40% St. Patrick’s Day sale going on right now too with the promo code SPD6543.

Questions for You:

  • If you need glasses, do you wear glasses or contacts? I have never been a contacts person!
  • Have you ever had a nice pair of glasses ruined? My most expensive pair got eaten by Beans – grr!

This is a sponsored post & contains affiliate links. I was provided the glasses for free in exchange for this review. Regardless, all opinions are my own & I always keep it real. For more information, see my website disclosure.

Before anyone decides to ask, no, I do not wear glasses. I mean, yes I am obviously wearing glasses in this post, but I do not have a prescription of any sort. When I was younger I would always put on my mom’s glasses until my head started to hurt. While I don’t think I’d want to be dependent on glasses or contacts (the idea of putting those in my eyes gives me the super creeps), I do wish I had glasses for certain outfits or looks. Why is it so looked down upon to wear glasses without a prescription? Why can’t glasses be accessories just like anything else? These things are the reason that when I was contacted by Firmoo to try out some of their frames (for fashion or function) I immediately said yes. Even Michael wondered why I accepted the offer for some glasses when I didn’t need any, but I think we should encourage non-glasses wearers to wear frames for style. They are so fun! I absolutely love this pair. They came so fast and I think the shape and colors are just beyond perfect. I am in love.

If you’re interested in checking out the frames at Firmoo for yourself, you can click any of the links (beside the one under the photo, which leads to the specific frames I chose) to get 50% off your first pair of frames! Exciting, no? And remember, they offer prescription and non-prescription lenses! Awesome right? Yes. They happen to have a fantastically stylish pair of cat eye glasses for those retro ladies out there. I almost go them myself, but I wanted something a bit more colorful. All in all, I had a great experience withFirmoo. The glasses are super fun, came in a cute case with a cleaning cloth, and even a soft case and a little screwdriver. Fantastic. Oh! And they have a feature on their site where you can upload a photo of yourself so you can try out different frames with your face shape right on the website! Yep. So go get your first set of frames 50% off today!

    Firmoo Glasses!

March 18th, 2015 by firmoo No comments »
Hey guys!! So, first off….another amazing pair of glasses from Firmoo!! I am so in love with these! They have that nerdy black-frame styling but still super fashionable! I can’t tell you how much I love this company…for me, I know what kind of frames suit my face so I have no problem picking a pair of glasses out online! Their glasses are SO affordable too! I feel like I can afford to have a collection of glasses from them without breaking the bank! Sadly, I haven’t had time to do an outfit shoot with them yet. The last couple weeks have been totally crazy between being sick, work trips, ski trips and to top everything off my fiance broke both bones in his ankle as is currently in surgery as I type this putting in plates and screws! Boo! The worst. So, I will be doing a shoot with them tomorrow! Make sure you check back to see what look I create with these!! Hope you like them! Enjoy! Check out more of Firmoo’s glasses right here:
Similar to the pair I picked can be found:

    Firmoo, Take 2: Frame Review

March 18th, 2015 by firmoo No comments »

I’ve been wearing glasses and contacts since middle school, but every time I go to the optometrist, they’re shocked to hear I sometimes wear my contacts for 16 hours a day. But I mean… what else are you supposed to do? If you wake up at 6am and get home at 9pm, it’s already 15 hours! Plus perhaps an hour or so at the gym puts you at 16.

That’s why on my “off” days, I go with no make up and no contacts.

These glasses are from Firmoo, which I previously talked about a year ago here. I’ve ordered glasses from Firmoo before, but ended up getting them in the wrong PD, so I couldn’t wear them.

This time, I went to the doctor’s first and I actually ordered these glasses in the right PD… and they are absolutely perfect. Absolutely perfect. Since I don’t have any other problems like astigmatism (which increase lens prices), ordering a $30 pair of frames makes so much more sense for me than buying $100 dollar frames from the doctor’s. I can probably say… that I’m never going to get frames from the optometrist ever again! These glasses have been though a few months of daily use and have passed the accidental lens-scratch and butt-sit tests with flying colors. There’s no quality difference at all between Firmoo and what you would get in stores.

Other than the product itself, the website was great and easy to use. I would however, highly recommend that you confirm your prescription, and especially PD before ordering.

I’ve been rocking square frames for a few years… what do you guys think of the round ones? Are they slightly retro to you?

    Eyeglasses: c/o Firmoo

I wear my eyeglasses about three times a year. I usually only need them during the wintertime while driving when it is super cold and grey out. The cold weather conditions and dim light make it difficult for me to see far away. I’m not sure if its because I’m pregnant (My weekly updates keep telling me my vision could be blurred) or if its just a coincidence with the weather/season, but I haven’t been able to see anything lately!
I was so excited when Firmoo reached out to me and offered me a new pair of glasses. It forced me to go to the eye doctor and get a new prescription (I have not had my eyes checked in over 8 years!). Firmoo offers a variety of prescription eyewear at extremely affordable prices. The process for picking out a pair of eyeglasses was super easy. I just chose my frames, lens and any add-ons that I wanted, and I received my glasses in about a week.
Normally it is super difficult to choose eyeglasses online without getting to try them on first, but Firmoo also allows you upload a photo of yourself so that you can virtually try on their glasses! I got these tortoise shell glasses, which can be found here. If you’re looking for a new pair of prescription eyeglasses or sunglasses, you can get a 50% off coupon code for all new customers, here.

    Firmoo Glasses Review

March 18th, 2015 by firmoo No comments »

A short while ago Firmoo contacted me and asked if I would review their website and glasses.  They had PERFECT timing because not 2 days before, my husband was telling me I needed a different style of glasses. Actually he tells me that every time I wear my old glasses, which is not often, but I guess that’s a testament to how outdated and wrong for me they are.

    Firmoo Review 2

On the Firmoo website, they have tons of options to choose from and ordering is simple and easy.  The first thing I noticed was how reasonable their prices are.

I am one of those people where I just don’t like myself in glasses. I never have, not in sunglasses, not in regular glasses. I think part of that is because I get SO frustrated trying on pair after pair, that I eventually pick the pair that I hate the least.  I would ask the opinion of the salesperson, but of course they are going to say “those look great” because they want you to make a purchase.  At Firmoo, they have a feature on their website where you can upload your own picture, and then when the photos of the glasses load, they are all your photo.  I found this both extremely helpful and funny.   You can upload multiple pictures to the Firmoo website to see them with different hair styles, etc. I got to see myself in a pair of HUGE round glasses that had my husband and I giggling for 5 minutes, and then there were some vintage style cat eye frames….I almost got those too, just for fun.  For the first time in my life, getting glasses was fun.

    Firmoo Review - Glasses

I placed my order, which was very straightforward and easy. They were processed and shipped within 2 days and were shipped via FedEx. I got a knock on my door about a week later.  Included in the package is a hard case, soft case, a tiny screwdriver, and a cleaning cloth.

    Firmoo Review - Selfie

    Tell Me:

    • What do you think of them?  These were my husband’s favorite out of the ones I was to choose from.  Personally I think they’re a smidgen too big for me….but I have a really small head.  No seriously, I do, my last pair were kid’s glasses.
    • Ever tried Firmoo?  If so, what did you think of them?

Product review: Firmoo glasses – model F045

March 18th, 2015 by firmoo No comments »

    Picture

Firmoo.com is the world’s most popular online eyeglasses store. Years of expertise in optical industry enable Firmoo.com to offer varieties of prescription eyewear to the consuming public in high quality yet at extremely affordable prices.

This retro-styled stunning frame is gorgeously sculpted and made from high-qualified acetate, while the medium sized lenses are specially designed for both single and progressive vision needs. The tailored arms are metal based for better durability and super comfort.

    Picture

    • $36.00 price includes 1.50 single vision lenses
    • Lens: Upgraded to “Thin and Light” (1.57) +$9.95 (required due to the strength of my prescription)
    • Add-on 1:Anti-Scratch
    • Add-on 4:Oleophobic Fingerprint Resistant A/R Coating +$14.95
    • Shipping $6.95 to $12.95
    • Total cost: $73.85
Yes, that’s less than $80 for frames, lenses, a few add on’s, and shipping. THIS MAKES ME SO EXCITED! Even when my insurance covered vision, it still cost more than $80 out of pocket, especially if I upgraded to thinner lenses. If you’re on a budget, or accident prone (or both, like me), it can be a tough shelling out tons of money for glasses, even if you absolutely need them to SEE. Honestly, I end up scratching the heck outta mine, no matter where I buy them from, with or without anti-scratch! But I do love the oleophobic fingerprint resistant coating–that totally helped me a TON.

I’ve picked out dozens of pairs of glasses in the optical departments, and the first time I ordered a pair of glasses from Firmoo, I was worried they wouldn’t fit well! But as long as you have your prescription (and PD measurement–which may not be on your prescription, but your eye doctor should have or be able to measure for you quickly), then you’re ready to roll. The Firmoo website allows customers to review the frames and upload pictures as well, which I found SUPER helpful. And they provide tons of useful information about each pair of frames to help you find the best fit:

    Picture
In addition to my pair of glasses, there was a hard case, soft case (drawstring pouch), cleaning cloth and tiny screwdriver. I’ve worn glasses since I was in 5th grade, and haven’t really been too fond of wearing them unless necessary until recently. While I still prefer contacts, I love knowing that my glasses are cute! I am so glad there are inexpensive options for cute, stylish, quality glasses. And right now, Firmoo has a sale going–40% off frames with code SPD6543.
